Karam, the Prince of the Eastern Province, Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, and Ratal Urban Development Company, represented by its CEO, Engineer Abdullah Al-Breikan, have been announced as key partners in the Eastern Province Creative Initiative 2023. This announcement took place during the launch of the fourth edition of the “Eastern Province Innovates” initiative, organized by the King Abdulaziz Cultural and World Enrichment Center (Ethraa).

The competition, named “Ratal Urban Creativity Competition,” was launched in collaboration with Eastern Province Innovates, Al-Khobar Municipality, and the Environmental Architecture Department of the Urban Sciences Association. The competition aims to stimulate innovation and creativity in the fields of architecture and urban design, as well as to enhance the role of youth in the development of cities and communities.

The competition, with prizes totaling 150,000 Saudi Riyals, includes two tracks. The first track, Designathon, involves designing the “Future Park” in the Ewan Tharwa project, while the second track, Designathon, focuses on the development of King Salman Bridge in the city of Al-Khobar.

Engineer Abdullah Al-Breikan stated that the competition seeks to enrich the urban landscape in the Eastern Province, support young talents in the fields of architecture and urban design, and strengthen the presence and role of youth in the development of cities and communities. He expressed hope that the competition would contribute to discovering and encouraging young talents to innovate and create.

It’s worth mentioning that the Ratal Urban Creativity Competition is part of two initiatives by Ratal Al-Khair to serve the community, namely the “Green Khobar” initiative and the “Khobar Art” initiative. The “Green Khobar” initiative aims to promote afforestation and greenery in the city of Al-Khobar, improving the quality of life through increasing vegetation cover in the city. On the other hand, the “Khobar Art” initiative aims to achieve a leap in the aesthetic design of the city, adding a creative artistic touch through graphics, murals, specialized lighting, and interactive elements.
